The rehabilitation laboratory is considered one of the important laboratories in the department because the patient with limbs and supports needs a rehabilitation process before and after wearing the limb or support, because the rehabilitation process enables him to wear the limb correctly without pressure on the bones or muscles and to move with the support and limb easily and freely.

Medical qualification before wearing the limb or support:

Before the patient wears the prosthetic limb, the muscles of the amputated limb must be tested in terms of strength, that is, they must be able to lift the limb and move it. Therefore, a series of medical exercises must be performed that strengthen the muscles and teach the patient how to wrap the bandage correctly so that a distortion does not form at the end of the limb. Prevent water from accumulating at the end. Amputation: The patient must be given some exercises that strengthen all the muscles of the body so that the patient can support the amputated limb.

Medical rehabilitation after wearing the limb or support:

After the patient wears the prosthetic limb, he must be rehabilitated for the limb, by teaching him how to wear the limb correctly. The patient is placed inside an iron walkway with a mirror in front of him, and he begins to learn how to stand, then walk slowly, and then walk normally. It must be observed whether the limb causes effects on the patient’s skin or not in order to avoid damage to the patient’s skin, Patient health.

Note:

All the tools and equipment necessary for the rehabilitation process are present in the rehabilitation laboratory, including a walkway, a runway, and muscle strength measuring devices.
