The Petroleum Department is one of the basic pillars of the College of Engineering because of its great impact on the development and extraction of oil in our dear country. The oil industry is thriving in our country as Iraq is one of the countries that has oil reserves, which makes it at the forefront of countries extracting oil. We hope to develop the oil sector by preparing efficient cadres. It is a vital field that includes all aspects of engineering development for the development of countries, given that oil represents the main backbone of energy production and other industries. The Department of Petroleum Engineering was created to be one of the point engineering departments in Iraqi universities that supports the oil sector. Petroleum engineers are trained to help deal with the oil sector and solve pressing issues and problems in the world, such as energy, environment, extraction and advanced manufacturing of crude oil, and land and sea transportation operations for crude oil and its derivatives. It is a specialization in which male and female students can excel and be creative.
