Dr. Laith Shaker Rashid Al-Qarawi, a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Kerbala, participated as chairman of the discussion committee for the master’s thesis conducted at the University of Thi-Qar University.
Hanan Jawad Qassem’s thesis tagged (Flexural Performance of RC Continuous Beams Strengthening by CFRP with Grooves). The thesis investigated the flexural performance of continuous reinforced concrete lintels that are strengthened by CFRP with grooves).
This study aims to improve the performance of reinforced concrete lintels using CFRP strips with grooves and using several variables, including the length of the groove and the length of the CFRP, in addition to studying the effect of the number of CFRP layers. The study showed a significant improvement in the performance of reinforced concrete lintels, as it was noted that the best performance was for the lintels with the longest and most numerous grooves.
