The honourable Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Laith Shaker Rashid Al-Qarawi, has signed an understanding memorandum with the Holy Karbala Branch’s Iraqi Engineers Syndicate. It aims to develop educational, scientific and professional cooperation frameworks between the Engineering College and the Syndicate to achieve the Karbala community service. Moreover, it links the outputs of the educational process in the College of Engineering to market needs local that represented by the  Syndicate and its branches. The memorandum also included supporting and developing cooperation between the two teams in research, training, development, knowledge dissemination, and community service.

 The Honorable Dean indicated that the College of Engineering seeks to develop cooperation in various engineering disciplines that available by organizing symposia, workshops, joint conferences, and exchanging scientific and professional visits.

Engineer Muhammad Fadel Al-Nasrawi, Captain of Karbala Engineers, responded by saying that the Syndicate of Engineers, Holy Karbala Branch, is ready to put its capabilities and expertise to make it available to students of undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Moreover, Syndicate presenting studies for the proposed projects carried out by the cadres of the Engineers Syndicate rooted in all governorates.

After signing the memorandum, The Dean stressed the importance of the Engineers Syndicate’s role in developing the outputs of the College of Engineering in various disciplines, pointing out that this memorandum is a significant opportunity that must be invested in developing cooperation between the two sides in the scientific and practical fields.

All the attendees expressed their readiness to implement the terms of the memorandum and their keenness to activate them on the ground, significantly to raise the scientific expertise of engineers and inform them of their rights and duties.

The signing of the memorandum was attended by the scientific and administrative assistants, the head of the civil engineering department, the head of the architecture department, some of the faculty’s teachers, the captain of engineers and some respected the Syndicate members.
