The Department of Petroleum Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Kerbala hosted the Mishwar Foundation, which is implementing the exchange program 2 in partnership with Al-Sabt Specialized Center and in cooperation with the Engineers Syndicate and the University of Basra. The seminar aims to train third-year students on various theoretical concepts as well as field visits to oil fields and projects implemented by giant oil companies. It also aims to help them learn about various issues related to petroleum engineering, safety concepts, build personal capabilities, present personal qualifications and prepare a Curriculum Vitae (CV) that is effectively compatible with market’s requirements. The symposium also included a speech by the Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Farhan Lafta Rashid, in which he explained the department’s keenness to develop the capabilities of its students and support such programs aimed at achieving the department’s goals and aspirations. For his part, the Dean of the College of Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Nadhum Al-Mahanna, welcomed the guests and stated the college’s aspirations for more of these specific programs and scientific and training partnerships that contribute to developing the students’ capabilities, as the program will include special interviews and a test for students applying for training in this program, through which fifteen students will be selected. It should be mentioned that the program aims to train one hundred students from all Iraqi universities.
