The Department of Architecture Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Kerbala organized a scientific trip to Al-Ukhaydir Fort, which is located 50 kilometers southwest of Karbala Governorate, for first-year students , in partnership with the Department of Architecture Engineering in the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University.
The trip aims to achieve scientific integration and communication between the student and his cultural heritage, in addition to enhancing the visual aspect of the students in order to contribute effectively to enhancing the practical aspect.
The trip included introducing the architectural student to the historical aspect of the landmarks of Holy Karbala and their importance in enhancing the belonging and spatial connection of the individual and society, as well as the architectural analysis of the elements of the historical building, which are unique visual nutrients functionally and formally. In the same regard, the functional relationships of the building plan were explained and how inspiration can be drawn from them in Architectural design process.
The trip concluded with scientific competitions to create some entertaining atmosphere in integration with the scientific aspect.
This activity comes within the framework of the efforts of the Deanship of the College of Engineering at the University of Kerbala to enhance scientific cooperation between universities and enrich the academic career through field and applied visits, as this is considered one of the basic components of the educational process.
