Mission
Our Department of Petroleum Engineering is dedicated to cultivating highly skilled petroleum engineers capable of addressing the future challenges of the energy sector and contributing to the sustainable development of Iraq and the region. We strive to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering an environment that encourages innovation and creativity, ultimately serving the interests of our nation and its people.
Objectives
- To produce highly qualified and experienced petroleum engineers capable of working in the oil and gas industry.
- To foster sound scientific research among faculty and students within the department.
- To supply the job market with specialized cadres in cooperation with other disciplines to work in Karbala’s refineries.
- To promote scientific cooperation with similar departments and advanced research centers within the university and other universities.
- To serve the community of Karbala Governorate through engineering consultations, organizing courses, seminars, and networking in the field of petroleum and other related disciplines.
- To enhance the trust of the Karbala community and public institutions in the department’s graduates.
