About the Department
The department aims to prepare applied engineers in prosthetic and orthotics engineering that are distinguished by a high level of knowledge and technological innovation, in line with the national and international standards in quality assurance and academic accreditation in the corresponding engineering programs, while adhering to the ethics of the engineering profession.

The department aspires to be one of the most creative and pioneering departments in scientific knowledge in prosthetics and orthotics engineering in Iraq and the region through the quality of its graduates and the research carried out in a manner that meets academic accreditation in its educational programs.
Department Goals
- Preparing engineering graduates in the field of prosthetics and orthotics engineering who possess high technical qualifications, skills, and are commited to professional ethics to meet the local demand.
- Prepare engineers who are able to solve engineering problems, and possess teamwork and leadership skills.
- Periodic development of the academic curricula based on market demand and feedback from local business partners aiming to achieve integration between the academic program and the market requirements.
- Providing financial resources by establishing research groups, manufacturing workshops and enhancing the students practical experience.
- Preparing qualified teaching and research staff with a high level of knowledge and creativity that enables them to developing technical solutions to market problems, and developing ideas and applied research for the benefit and development of society.
- Providing counseling programs for current and graduate students, directing them to enhance the spirit of citizenship and commitment to obtain the knowledge and serve the community.
- Providing a suitable working environment for faculty, and students based on national and international standards of quality assurance and academic accreditation of engineering programs.
