The Department Chair Opening Remarks
In the name of Allah
Civil Engineering Department is considered as one of the largest scientific departments in the College of Engineering, University of Karbala. It includes a distinguished group of academic staff of about fifty-five members who work diligently to maintain high quality scientific and educational standards in the department. Civil Engineering Department also plays an important role in developing and changing the cultural, social and scientific reality in the Holy Governorate of Karbala, as it has an important role in the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of different engineering projects such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, airports, irrigation projects, roads and others. Furthermore, Civil Engineering Department works on training and nurturing renowned academic faculty members by involving many distinguished students into the postgraduate studies to support the educational process and the teaching staff in all specializations.
