Scientific Visit for Architecture Students from the University of Kerbala to Baghdad to Enhance Their Practical Skills.

As part of the scientific activities to develop university students’ skills, the Architecture Department at the College of Engineering, the University of Kerbala, organized a scientific visit to Baghdad on Thursday, February 20, 2025, accompanied by fourth-year students.

The visit included significant architectural landmarks such as the Qushla Building, Al-Mutanabbi Street, and Al-Zawra City, attended by Dr. Raed Amin Fawzi, Dr. Duha Thamer, Assist. Lecturer Ali Rwaof, and Engineer Rissal Fares. The visit was part of the requirements for the architectural design course.

The purpose of the visit was to enable students to gain insights into the planning and design of residential projects and learn about the design standards and associated planning considerations. Additionally, students studied the detailed designs of the architectural landmarks. They also sought to understand the relationship between ancient architectural design, exemplified by the Qushla Building and Al-Rasheed Street (now known as Al-Mutanabbi Street), and modern cities like Al-Zawra.

This visit also aimed to enhance students’ practical skills in the engineering field and to develop their experiences in organizing work at architectural sites.
