Civil Engineering Department is one of the main departments in the College of Engineering at the University of Karbala, and was established in 2006. The primary goal of the Civil Engineering Department is to develop and train outstanding engineering staff scientifically and professionally with broad specializations including building and construction engineering, foundation and soil engineering, road and transportation engineering, engineering management, materials technology, and sanitary and water resources engineering. In addition, the department is diligent to prepare a strong scientific background for engineers, which qualifies them to support their research in postgraduate studies in the department and keep pace with the developments and technological breakthroughs in the world in order to contribute effectively in building and developing our country.
