In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
May peace, blessings, and peace be upon the most honorable of messengers, our master Muhammad, and upon all his family and companions. May God’s peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, one of the largest departments in the College of Engineering/University of Karbala, has set its sights since the college’s founding on seeking and benefiting from the distinguished expertise of teachers and engineers in mechanical engineering. It now includes a distinguished elite of faculty members who work with continuous effort. To produce honorable results in terms of quality and efficiency.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is considered a leading specialty in new technologies, whether through innovations in the field of mechanical design and advanced manufacturing, robotics systems, air conditioning, and refrigeration engineering, electrical power generation systems of various types, smart software designs, clean energy systems, and internal combustion engines.
Mechanical engineering curricula are designed according to international engineering education standards and rules to prepare qualified graduates to work in various governmental and private sectors. The department is known for the strength of its scientific curriculum at different university levels, as the bachelor’s curriculum provides a solid engineering background in four years, such as general mechanics.
The department also has an integrated program for postgraduate studies (Master’s), where it has graduated many engineers who are recognized for their competence. Today we see them as members of the department’s teaching staff, and we also see others delving with excellence and distinction in the various fields of industry and technology to build a better future.
The student is the main priority of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, as our students receive all of our attention. That is why the department works with all its members and capabilities to graduate students, who have a special place in various governmental and private institutions. This appears in their obtaining jobs in various engineering sectors such as power generation plants, well drilling companies, oil refining and petrochemical companies, and other governmental and private sectors.
I wish all the department’s students success in their studies and professional aspirations.
