Under the leadership of Professor Dr. Laith Shaker Rashid Al-Qarawi, Dean of the College of Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the College of Engineering held a discussion meeting on the benefits of applied research and how to turn this research into patent projects that can be used in society as part of Global Leadership Week.
Professor Dr. Abbas Sahi and Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Jabbar Karaji issued a set of patents in this field as part of a master’s thesis for postgraduate studies in the department; these were investigated by the session’s instructors.
The discussion session also emphasized the stages of developing applied research and its advancement to obtain patents approved by The Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in Iraq. Patents related to this issue and the stages of obtaining them were also introduced.
The methods of writing these patents, which were specialized in the field of renewable energy, were part of the discussion sessions during the Scientific Leadership Week.
