Within the activities of the Global Leadership Week, the College of Engineering at the University of Kerbala, Department of Architectural Engineering, organized a discussion panel, which discussed: (The plastic arts in our inherited architecture, an extension of the culture of a pioneering local identity)
It was delivered by the teacher, Dr. Haider Naji Attia, in the presence of the Head of the Architectural Engineering Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Ibrahim Muhammad Allawi, and a group of professors and students.
The panel discussion focused on the reality of the situation in Iraqi cities at the present time and the deterioration of their original local identity, as the cities are marred by a lot of visual pollution and randomness in the formation of architectural elements in the facades, at a time when laws and controls have been set to regulate the construction process.
Then Naji discussed the great wealth of the Mesopotamian civilization, including the meanings of the arts and architecture that the word civilization carries within it, resulting from the cultural and intellectual depth of this generous land. The doctor reviewed the basics of the arts and the extent to which they express the culture of societies, the origins of the engineering innovations that emerged from this land, and the ingenuity of planning.
