The College of Engineering at the University of Kerbala, in collaboration with the EMAC engineering team and the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate – Karbala Branch, held an engineering seminar entitled “Roads: Between Deterioration and Development.” The event was attended by a distinguished group of academics, engineers, and students interested in enhancing the infrastructure sector.
The seminar addressed the latest methods and technologies for road maintenance and development. It featured a presentation by Dr. Raed Rahman Al-Mahna, a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Kerbala, who provided in-depth insights into pavement and transportation management, showcasing successful experiences and pioneering projects in this field. Dr. Al-Mahna emphasized the importance of long-term planning for road maintenance, affirming that “investing in modern technologies not only improves the quality of roads but also helps reduce costs in the long run.”
This collaboration between the University of Kerbala, the EMAC team, and the Engineers Syndicate aims to enhance engineering awareness, connect students and graduates with labor market requirements, and encourage the adoption of modern technologies in infrastructure projects to ensure the sustainability and development of road networks in Iraq.
