Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Haider Nazim Al-Muhanna, and under the supervision of the Head of the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering, Assistant Professor Dr. Muslim Mohsen Ali Al-Sharifi, a patient suffering from a below-knee amputation and suffering from health problems in the amputation area, in addition to diabetes, was examined in the Prosthetics and Orthotics Laboratory. The patient, born in 1952, suffered from difficulty in movement, recurring wounds, and bone inflammation due to diabetes.

The examination was attended by the technician, Mr. Hussein Abd Zaid, and the laboratory staff of engineers and students of the second and third stages. After continuous follow-up for a month, the patient was rehabilitated and the appropriate prosthetic limb was manufactured for his condition.

This work comes within the service activities provided by the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering to serve the community, and is part of the efforts of the College of Engineering to provide support and care to those in need.
