In the framework of productive collaboration between academic and professional institutions, the College of Engineering at Kerbala University, in cooperation with the Engineers’ Union in Karbala and the Van Steel factory in Erbil, is organizing a distinctive scientific activity that explores a comparative study between two prominent global standards for deformed reinforcement bars: ASTM A615 and ISO 6935.

The study focuses on reviewing the main characteristics of these standards, including tensile strength, ductility, weldability, and corrosion resistance, while analyzing the similarities and differences between them in terms of physical and chemical specifications, production requirements, and testing procedures.

This activity aims to enhance the scientific and practical understanding of global standards in the construction field, supporting engineers and specialists in making informed decisions that contribute to achieving the highest levels of quality in engineering projects.

The workshop will be presented by:

Prof. Dr. Laith Shakir Rashid Al-Qarawi, Professor of Construction at the College of Engineering, Kerbala University

Engineer Abdul Aziz Mohammed, Quality Control Manager at Van Steel Factory.
