As part of the college’s improvement and development plan for the year 2025, and to establish fruitful cooperation with governmental and private institutions in the province of Karbala, a delegation from the college visited Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital, which is affiliated with the Holy Abbasid Shrine. The delegation was led by the respected Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Nazim Aziz Al-Mahanna, accompanied by the assistants and heads of scientific departments. The hospital director, Assist. Prof. Dr. Jassim Saeed Salman Al-Ibrahimi, welcomed the delegation. During the meeting, a memorandum of community partnership was signed between the two parties, focusing on scientific, research, and training fields. The two parties agreed to exchange theoretical and practical experiences to generate knowledge through various divisions, including:
- Completing joint research projects.
- Creating research partnerships for first-year students (freshman) in all departments and activating the conduct of research for postgraduate students within the hospital environment.
- Investing in the hospital’s technical training workshop for the purposes of training, qualification, testing, and working to repair and operate some broken equipment.
- Training members by holding specialized courses according to available capabilities.
- Cooperation in the field of student training, according to available capabilities.
This memorandum is one of several developed between the Engineering College at the University of Kerbala and various academic and industrial institutions to support the community, enhance the quality of education, and improve the graduate and undergraduate programs offered by the college.
