A lecture in the College of Engineering- University of Karbala discusses his thesis in the College of Science, University of Karbala

Haider Nazim Aziz Al-Mahanna, Secretary of the College of Engineering Council and the lecturer in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, congratulates Mohammad Thamer Jaafar for the discussion of his doctoral thesis titled( Utilizing Derivatives of Heterocyclic Compounds for many applications)
Functionalization of Macro Heterocyclic Compounds Derivatives for Numerous Applications
The thesis aims to prepare new porphyrin derivative compounds with double, triple, and quaternary substitutes and characterize them, as well as to prepare photoactive nanocomposites for the aim of applying them as anodes with titanium dioxide in dye-sensitizing solar cells and as erosion inhibitors.
The thesis concluded that most prepared porphyrin derivations are used as sensitizers for solar cells, while others are used as anti-corrosion agents.
The thesis was approved by the discussion commission, which comprised of Professor Dr. Hamida Idan Salman( Chairman), Professor Dr. Zeid Hassan Abood( member), and Professor Dr. Mohanad Mousa Kareem.
