A master’s thesis in the Department of Civil Engineering discussed the representation of sandy soils stabilized with cement and reinforced with fibers in road systems with unconfined layers. The study was submitted by Hawraa Hadi Saleh and is titled (Modeling fiber-reinforced cemented in unbound layered pavement systems).
The study aims to improve the properties of sandy soil that is already stabilized with cement by incorporating separate fibers (polypropylene) of different lengths and replacing ratios into the cement-stabilized soil mixture and conducting a set of laboratory and field tests on it to determine its final properties.
The study shows an improvement in the properties of soil stabilized with cement after strengthening it with separate fibers (polypropylene), by reducing high fragility and insufficient tensile strength by increasing the toughness ratio.
The thesis was approved by the discussion committee, which consisted of Professor Dr. Jalal Taqi Shaker, Al-Qadisiyah University / College of Engineering (chairman), Assistant Professor Dr. Anmar Faleh Dikan, University of Kerbala (member), Assistant Professor Dr. Mushtaq Sadiq Radi, University of Kerbala / College of Engineering (member), and Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Muhammad Jawad, University of Kerbala / College of Engineering (member and supervisor) and Assistant Professor Dr. Raed Rahman Adnan, University of Kerbala / College of Engineering (member and supervisor).
