Head of the Department of Architecture at the University of Kerbala, a committee member of the master’s thesis defense at the University of Baghdad.
Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Ibrahim Mohamed Alawe participated in a master’s thesis defense entitled “The Impact of Kinetic Facades on Energy Performance in Hospitals.” The study aimed to explain the strategies for employing kinetic facades to achieve energy efficiency in Iraq’s hot, dry region. The research showed that kinetic facades affect the overall energy consumption and, thus, performance efficiency in public hospitals. Environmental simulation programs, thermal analysis, and modeling tools were used. The results showed that the composite kinetic facade is the most efficient in reducing the heat load transmitted to the interior of the building, which affects the reduction of energy consumption.
