Lecturer at the College of Engineering, University of Kerbala, a member of the master’s thesis defense at the University of Babylon. Lecturer Dr. Raed Fawzi participated in discussing a master’s thesis entitled (Urban Resilience of the Built Environment in the Centers of Holy Cities in Post-War Iraq, the City of Karbala as a Case Study). The thesis addressed topics related to the study area, such as social and cultural traditions, practices, and rituals, as well as studying the concepts of resilience and sustainability and analyzing studies related to the research topic and the study area. The study aims to use flexible standards to achieve the lowest percentage of demolition of the traditional urban fabric, ensuring the preservation of urban identity and social and cultural customs and practices.
