Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Laith Shakir Rasheed Al-Qarawee, and under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Muslim Mohsen Ali, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering held a scientific trip for senior and junior students of department accompanied with faculty and engineering staff of the department to the Iraqi-Indian Economic Cooperation Foundation(JAIPUR) in (Israr Camp) at Baghdad International exhibition, in cooperation with the Prime Minister, the Iraqi Ministry of Health, and the Indian Embassy in Baghdad.
The purpose of the trip to the camp is making students get practical experiences from an integrated laboratory for manufacturing limbs, from diagnosis, taking measurements, and manufacturing the mold to installing the limb for its users.
To support students’ ideas, which are considered live applied examples of direct learning, which our students obtained through direct inspection and follow-up of the techniques and skill possessed by the experienced Indian staff with the devices and mechanisms used to complete the limbs in an optimal manner and in less time.
