The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Karbala, and with the aim of strengthening the applied side by merging the practical side with the theoretical side, students of the third stage of the morning study visited the Musayab thermal power station in Babel Governorate. From the thermal boiler, the turbine, the generation head and its accessories, and how each of these parts works for the purpose of generating electric power. In addition to visiting the control unit of the station, At the station, the engineering staff explained how to monitor the production of electrical energy from the control room, the existing devices, and the programs used for this purpose. The trip concluded with some entertaining atmosphere in integration with the scientific aspect.
Where the Deanship of the College of Engineering encourages the enrichment of the academic curriculum with periodic field visits, as it is considered one of the components of the scientific curriculum for students.
