The Department of Architecture at the College of Engineering / University of Karbala hosted Dr. Muwaffaq Al-Ta’i, an expert in Iraqi architecture, and one of the first staff of the Department of Architecture at the University of Baghdad and a former consultant to the Ministry of Housing and the Municipality of Baghdad. The lecture was on the concept of sustainable development. The lecture was held in the presence of some faculty members and students of Architecture engineering and attendances whose concerned with sustainable spatial development. Dr. Al-Taie talked about some important vocabulary in the fourth stage syllabus that would contribute to working on defining organizational and planning procedures within the concept of sustainable development, indicating that his visit and the organization of the lecture comes within the activities of supporting the young departments and strengthening the external cooperation relations of the departments of architecture. Contributing to the development of scientific curricula, as the Deanship of the College of Engineering and the head of the Department of Architecture seek to sustain the cooperative practical movement that contributes to the development of the educational process in a way that provides the best for dear students.
