After a break of more than a year due to the repercussions of the Coronavirus, Assistant Professor Dr Laith Shaker Rashid Al-Qarawi, the esteemed Dean of the College of Engineering at Karbala University, attended the first attendance meeting of the Deans of the Colleges of Engineering for Iraqi universities.
The Dean indicated that the meeting included a discussion of a number of important matters that dealt with discussing the new curricula for the engineering departments to keep pace with the development taking place in reputable universities, as well as the creation of rare qualitative departments in the field of space technology.
The importance of libraries in engineering colleges and scientific colleges was also discussed in order to urge students of the finished stages to submit quarterly research in some scientific subjects by visiting these libraries to enrich their perceptions and develop their ideas and specialized culture.
Discussions were held about summer training for engineering faculties and the possibility of adding other specializations to non-engineering faculties after a set of proposals, as well as a discussion of updating the curricula for master’s programs in some engineering faculties, with defining the tasks and duties of the deans’ committees, especially the committee of deans of engineering faculties, according to its approval in the opinion board meeting of the Ministry Higher education and scientific research.
