A master thesis submitted to the Department of Civil Engineering/ College of Engineering / University of Kerbala, titled “Coated waterworks sludge by iron oxide and application for removal of dyes from contaminated water”, the thesis was conducted by Ahmed Mahmoud Kazem Al-Sharifi. The thesis investigates the effect of adding by-product material produced from wastewater treatment plants after coating them with iron oxide and treating them with special laboratory procedures, as well as conducting Mathematical models. The treatment process was found to be mainly affected by several factors, including pH (3), the dose of pollutant absorbent materials (0.2 g/50 ml), and the removal time which begins after (60 minutes) from placing the manufactured material to absorb the pollutant, where the removal rate of pollutants was about 98.84%. The thesis was approved by the discussion committee and ranked as “excellence”. The chair of the committee was Prof. Dr. Zainab Bahaa Muhammad (from University of Technology). The committee members were Asst. Prof. Dr. Riyad Jassim Muhammad and Dr. Maad Farouk Hussein (from University of Kerbala). The thesis not only supervised but also discussed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abd al-Razzaq Abd. Al-Ridha (from University of Kerbala), and Prof. Dr Saif Salah Al-Qazwini (from University of Babylon).
