The Petroleum Engineering Department at the College of Engineering at the University of Kerbala participated actively in the First Careers Conference 2025, organized by the college under the theme:

“Employment in the Age of Modern Technology.”

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the President of the University of Kerbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali Al-Kraiti.

As part of the conference, a specialized session was held for the Petroleum Engineering Department. Professor Ahmed Imad Al-Jarrah, a consultant at the Al-Sabt Center for Energy and Renewable Energy, delivered a valuable orientation lecture focusing on preparing a professional CV and strategies for passing job interviews in the public and private sectors. He also urged graduates to develop their technical skills by learning specialized software in the oil and gas field, in addition to enhancing their English language skills as a key tool for professional communication.

The session also included two success stories from the department’s graduates, as inspiring real-life examples of ways to achieve self-fulfillment and enter the job market. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Moneim, one of the department’s instructors, also delivered a motivational lecture in which he emphasized the importance of individual initiative, creating self-employment opportunities, and developing private projects that contribute to gaining practical experience.

In another aspect of its participation, the department organized live job interviews for a group of its graduates in cooperation with SBC, a private company operating in the oil sector. This practical step embodies the conference’s goals of opening new horizons for graduates and creating strategic partnerships with employers in various sectors.
